Voice AI Agents: 12 Languages, Real Accents

Here is a problem we see constantly: a company deploys voice AI for their call center, and it works fine in English. Then they try to serve customers in Arabic or Hindi, and the system falls apart. Most voice AI treats Arabic as one language. It is not. A caller from Riyadh sounds completely different from a caller in Cairo, and both sound different from someone in Casablanca.

We shipped support for 12 languages with regional accent handling that works in production. The system now distinguishes Gulf Arabic from Levantine Arabic, Latin American Spanish from Castilian, and Mandarin tonal variations across regions. This is live today.

What We Shipped

Six new languages join our existing coverage: Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Bahasa (Indonesian and Malay), Urdu, and Portuguese (Brazilian and European). Combined with Arabic, English, Hindi, Mandarin, Spanish, and French, that gives you 12 languages from a single deployment.

The language count is not the real story. The real story is accent handling.

Each language includes dedicated regional models. Arabic covers Gulf, Levantine, Egyptian, and Maghreb dialects. English covers American, British, Australian, Indian, and South African accents. Spanish handles Castilian, Mexican, Colombian, and Argentine variants. The same depth applies across every supported language.

When a customer calls in Egyptian Arabic, the agent responds in Egyptian Arabic -- not in Modern Standard Arabic that sounds like a textbook. This matters. It is the difference between a conversation that feels natural and one that feels robotic.

We also built code-switching detection. In the UAE, India, and Southeast Asia, callers frequently switch between languages mid-sentence. The system handles this without losing context or asking the caller to repeat themselves.

Why This Matters

If you operate in MENA, South Asia, or Southeast Asia, your customers speak multiple languages and dialects. A single Voice AI deployment now covers callers from Dubai, Mumbai, Istanbul, and Jakarta without language barriers. That is one system replacing what used to require separate solutions for each region.

For customer support operations, handling calls in the caller's own dialect reduces friction and keeps conversations moving. Fewer misunderstandings means fewer escalations to human agents, which directly reduces operational load.

For sales teams running outbound campaigns, the system automatically matches the prospect's language and accent. Conversations sound natural from the first word, which changes how prospects engage.

The automation angle is simple: you deploy once, and the system handles the complexity of multilingual, multi-dialect communication across your entire customer base. No separate configurations per language. No manual routing by region.
